Great Outdoors
Experience the beautiful Kent and Sussex countryside up close and indulge your passion for the great outdoors. In the Garden of England it’s easy – most of the area falls within the High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and North Downs AONB, including the open heathlands of Ashdown Forest, providing stunning backdrops for a variety of activities. The area lends itself naturally to outdoor activities including watersports, climbing, horse riding, fishing, mountain biking, cycling, walking – and even zip wires at two Go Ape Kent locations!
Test your skills and endurance at mountain biking, or take the family cycling on one of the family-friendly cycling tracks at Bedgebury Forest. Take to the saddle at Bedgebury Park Equestrian Centre and at Coldblow Equestrian Centre, or select from a huge number of footpaths and waymarked paths which criss-cross Kent and Sussex and explore the countryside at a gentler pace. Or how about a peaceful meander along the River Medway on the Allington Belle Paddle Boat? Surely the most relaxing way to get out and about.
