Galleries and Museums in Kent and Sussex
Culture vultures and history enthusiasts will love the selection of museums and art galleries in Kent and Sussex. From local history museums found in many of the towns such as those in Tunbridge Wells and Cranbrook, and small local museums such as the Eden Valley Museum and the Otford Heritage Centre, to small, specialist galleries showing high quality travelling exhibitions and works of art, such as those at Mascalls Gallery.
The whole family will be fascinated by the collections of Morgan motor cars at the CM Booth Museum in Rolvenden.
Finchcocks Musical Museum offers a unique experience - as well as a collection of 100 historical keyboard instruments, visitors are treated to an entertaining demonstration of some of the instruments. Chiddingstone Castle's collection of Japanese and Egyptian artefacts is also something you may not necessarily expect tucked away in the Kent countryside.
South East Open Studios takes place in June every year and allows visitors to view local artists at work in their own studios – check with one of the local Tourist Information Centres for further details.
