English wine is rapidly building a reputation for itself as being some of the best in the world. Ideal climate and soil conditions in south east England mean that vineyards in Kent and Sussex are now producing award winning wines to rival those of more well known wine producing regions and nations.

Enjoy sampling English wines produced in the Garden of England at some of the pubs and restaurants in the region or directly from the producer.

Chapel Down Winery near Tenterden in Kent is known for its award winning sparkling wines, as well as range of delicious whites, rosés and mellow reds. Visitors to the winery can sample the wines before purchasing, and select from a range of local Kent goodies such as jams, cheeses and baked goods sold in the winery shop. The onsite restaurant with views over the surrounding vineyard makes a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.

Biddenden Vineyard has been producing Kentish wine, cider and apple and pear juices for over 40 years. Eleven varieties of grapes are grown in the surrounding 23 acres to produce white, red, rosé and quality sparkling wines – all available to try and purchase in the Vineyard shop and coffee shop. Visitors are welcome throughout the year to expore the Vineyard and there are free guided tours of the Vineyard are held on most Saturday mornings and on Wednesday mornings during harvest time.
