Spring Gardens in Kent and Sussex

Spring Gardens

Spring has sprung and where better to enjoy it than in the Garden of England.

The Garden of England truly lives up to its name at this time of year, as spring bulbs and fruit blossom start to poke through and cover the countryside with long anticipated colour and scent. Snowdrops, daffodils, tulips, bluebells, acres of apple and cherry blossom, azaleas and rhododendrons too are just some of the spectacles to be seen.

Many of the gardens have already opened their doors once again to the first visitors of the season.

The swathes of daffodils, camellias and blossom at Hever Castle, Chiddingstone Castle and Penshurst Place are at their peak, and soon will be handing over to displays of tulips, azaleas and later peonies.

The bluebells are at their height in mid May. Don’t miss the delightful experience of strolling through a carpet of bluebells – Kent and Sussex are particularly well known for these headily scented woodland beauties. See at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Hole Park and at Pashley Manor, or simply on a country walk on the network of public footpaths crossing the region, where you are bound to catch a glimpse of the blue haze they create on the woodland floor.

Pashley Manor is known for magnificent display of tulips and other spring flowers creating a riot of colour - sight for sore winter eyes.

Have a look at our full list of Spring Events, and take advantage of some of the Special Offers available at the selection of high quality places to stay in the area and give yourself a well earned Spring Break in the Garden of England.
