Add Tenterden to your Itinerary

Tenterden, Kent
Known as 'The Jewel of the Weald', Tenterden High Street is a wide avenue flanked either side by pretty Kentish clapboard houses, wide fronted shops and trees and lawn, making it a very attractive place to browse and relax. Many of the shops are independently run creating the atmosphere of a bustling town with real character. As one of the Cinque Ports, Tenterden's long history is reflected in the variety of houses and other buildings to be seen. The town is also the starting point for the Kent & East Sussex Railway with steam strains runnning to Northiam in nearby East Sussex.
